The 2007 Kerrang! Awards are taking place on Thursday, August 23rd, 2007 at The Brewery in the UK and will air at a later date on Kerrang! TV.  For those unfamiliar, Kerrang! is a very popular music magazine in Europe and the award ceremony is putting some of your favorite artists up against each other.

My Chemical Romance's "Welcome To The Black Parade" has been nominated for Best Single, "The Black Parade" for Best Album and the band itself for Best International Band.

Singer Gerard Way spoke to Kerrang! about the nominations: "It's been an amazing, crazy adventure being in this band for six years. The United Kingdom has always been a second home for us and you have all done more than make us feel welcome. And while nominations are flattering, and trophies are thrilling, our greatest award is the love and dedication we receive from all of you - and nothing sitting in a shelf can take the place of that. Thank you for making us the best we can be"
